U nder general direction of the Staff Services Manager (SSM) II, the Research Data Analyst (RDA) II performs research and statistical work in the Criminal Justice Statistic Center (CJSC). The RDA II will be responsible for planning and producing CJSC publications and responses to information requests. The RDA II will be expected to identify necessary data for a project, summarize the data using appropriate statistical techniques, and present the information orally and/or in writing. Assignments may be given in minimum to moderate detail and the RDA II will need to exercise their judgment in developing and implementing the project.

Working Conditions
This position is eligible for telework up to 5 days a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. A teleworker is considered Remote-centered if they work fifty percent or more of their time from an alternate work location. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Completion of an online multiple-choice test measuring knowledge of variable types, statistics, and ability to perform basic statistical computations is REQUIRED to proceed in the selection process for this position. This is separate from the CalHR list eligibility exam.

An email invitation to the test will be sent to you within 10 days business days after the Final Filing Date. The email invitation will be sent to the email address listed on your application form (STD 678) from Assessment.Support@doj.ca.gov and will provide a test link, code, and instructions. The test will be open for five business days, during which you can start the test at any time provided you complete it by the end of the administration window. Once the test is started, it must be completed within the allotted test time of 45 minutes. Your score on this test is valid for three months. Therefore, you will not be required to re-take this test for positions that require it within the Department of Justice Statistics Center if you have taken it within the last three months.
