Job Description
1. Program Oversight
a.Develop, implement, and oversee the Magnet Program within NYCHHC: Queens
b.Ensure adherence to the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program standards and criteria.
c.Collaborate with various departments to integrate Magnet principles into the organization's overall strategy.
2. Leadership and Collaboration
a.Provide leadership and guidance to the Magnet Program team.
b.Collaborate with nursing leaders, administrators, and staff to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
c.Facilitate communication and collaboration among different departments to meet Magnet standards.
3. Documentation and Compliance
a.Ensure accurate documentation of evidence and data required for Magnet recognition.
b.Stay informed about changes in ANCC standards and update the organization's practices accordingly.
c.Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with Magnet standards.
4. Education and Training
a.Develop and implement educational programs to enhance staff understanding of Magnet principles.
b.Provide training to nursing staff and other relevant personnel on Magnet requirements and expectations.
5. Quality Improvement Initiatives:
a.Identify areas for improvement based on Magnet standards and work with the relevant departments to implement quality improvement initiatives.
b.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality improvement efforts.
6. Data Analysis and Reporting:
a.Collect and analyze data related to nursing practices, patient outcomes, and other relevant metrics.
b.Prepare and submit reports to demonstrate the organization's compliance with Magnet standards.
7. Advocacy and Recognition:
a.Advocate for the Magnet Program internally and externally.
b.Promote the achievements and recognition gained through Magnet designation.
c.Engage with stakeholders, patients, and the community to communicate the organization's commitment to nursing excellence.
8. Continuous Learning:
a.Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and advancements in nursing and healthcare.
b.Attend conferences, workshops, and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills related to Magnet principles.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State; and,
2. A Master's Degree in Nursing Administration or an equivalent field, and a minimum of four years of high-level responsible experience in nursing administration, three years of which shall have been in a hospital; or,
3. A satisfactory equivalent. However, all candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State.
