As Tyler Technologies Courts & Justice Division continues to grow, we seek a Director, Product Management to lead our Courts product line, comprised of Enterprise Justice and Justice Partner Platform.

The Director, Product Management drives forward the Courts products and works closely with the General Manager for Courts to align products to the business direction. The Director oversees a team of product managers, product owners, and product analysts that define and execute strategy for delivering individual products within the Courts product-line, to the market.

Note: This is a hybrid position that requires the candidate to be in the Plano, TX office at least 2 days per week.

Responsibilities


The Director, Product Management for Courts responsible for:

Strategy
  • Establish and drives Courts product-line strategy, and is voice of that strategy internally, in the market, and with customers.
  • Facilitate data-driven decisions for products in the Courts product-line.
  • Adapts to and welcomes new market trends and opportunities as they present themselves and models that behavior with product managers.
  • Understand competitors' products to shape your product-line strategy.

Roadmaps
  • Driving the establishment of product vision and multi-year roadmaps for the Courts product line and individual products.
  • Track value delivered, product adoption, performance, and execution against the Courts roadmaps and adjusting roadmaps as necessary.

Business Opportunities
  • Supporting C&J leadership and Courts General Manager in identifying and vetting M&A opportunities.
  • Contribute to robust business cases and optimized product investments through review, analysis and challenge to ensure business assumptions are valid.
  • Look for opportunities for product-line growth (users and revenue) and margin expansion.

Partnering
  • Partnering with internal and external stakeholders to understand Courts customer needs and business goals and providing strategic direction on how to support them.
  • Facilitates ongoing communication between product teams and stakeholders - driving visibility and feedback.
  • Create strategic alliances with relevant stakeholders across organization to make communication seamless across Courts products.
  • Build and maintain strong partnership with Courts General Manager.

Team
  • Build and lead team of product managers, product owners and analysts capable of taking existing solutions and future initiatives to market.
  • Coach and inspire product team members to apply and strengthen problem solving skills and identify long-term opportunities for Courts products in response to user needs and market conditions.
  • Mentorship of product staff to develop the individual product managers, product owners and product analysts to grow their product management and leadership skills.
  • Model empathy for customers and for internal partners in Courts product line decisions and operations.
  • Practice leadership with cross-functional team and promote ownership, individual and collective.

Thought Leadership
  • Continuously look for ways to engage with the market and over time influence the market through thought leadership.
  • Stay current on market trends by attending trade shows, visit existing and potential clients, and visiting with sales to understand unmet needs in RFI's and RFP's.
  • Experience working from a product management perspective in an agile software development practice.
  • Anticipate and identify changing market needs based on evolution in the business landscape, and emerging trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Advanced degree such as an MBA, is preferred but not required.
  • Experience managing direct reports, ideally product managers, product owners, and product analysts.
  • 7-10 years of experience working in product management or related filed
  • Experience leading successful product initiatives.
  • Ability to represent 'the voice of the customer' and strong customer-centric mindset with a deep understanding of user needs and market dynamics.
  • Experience creating and leading product and technology presentations to internal and external senior leaders.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and become productive with them quickly
  • Strong oral/written communication skills
  • Experience making build/buy/partner recommendations and decisions.
