The salary range for this position is $22.71 ($47,236) - $29.20 ($60,736). Actual salary will be determined based on experience.
Summary of Position:
We are seeking a coordinator position for the Graduate Program of Study in Genetic Counseling in the department of Genetics, Cell Biology and Development. This position will give applicants the opportunity to work with a faculty leadership team, staff instructors, and ~20 MS genetic counseling graduate students. The coordinator will run the genetic counseling office, assist in organizing meetings, and communicate with fieldwork sites throughout the Twin Cities and Minnesota.
Work Mode: Hybrid (three days on site/two days remote)
Essential and Other Functions
40% Student support services for the graduate program of study in genetic counseling
Admissions
• Communicating with prospective students regarding admissions process
• Compiling applications
• Coordinate prospective student meetings
• Oversee the Genetic Counseling Experience Program
• Communicate decisions to the Graduate School
Orientation
• Setting up student emails, background checks, registration, and maintaining the resource lists
• Create Google Drive with Program Handbook and other orientation materials
• Work with General Biology to coordinate Teaching Assistantships
Classroom Management
• Requesting & reserving rooms
• Updating course catalogs/descriptions/etc.
• Assist with Canvas setup and administration
Graduation
• Schedule graduation reception, order food
• Coordinate class pictures
Office Management
55% Provide administrative support for the graduate program of study in genetic counseling
Fieldwork Coordination
• Coordinate affiliation agreements between University of Minnesota Legal Department and corresponding institutions.
• Maintain databases of affiliation agreements to ensure up-to-date documentation.
• Coordinate introductory emails to supervisors, collect evaluations for students and sites within Canvas.
• Assist with paperwork and coordination of supervisory training CEU and completed evaluations.
• Maintain office supplies, equipment, and materials
• Manage incoming and outgoing packages/mail
• Scheduling and coordinating meetings
• Maintain office library for division
• Purchasing on behalf of division
• Expense and reimbursement submissions
• Assist with preparation of quarterly reports for program director review

5% Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
All required qualifications must be documented on application materials
Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma/GED and four years operations and/or student support experience. Training/education in project management may substitute for some of the experience in student support or vice versa.
• Documented experience assisting and managing multiple clients or students simultaneously.
• Documented competence with computer programs used to produce forms and reports such as Excel and Word.
• Demonstrated/documented experience initiating and administering projects, programs and tasks with little direction or oversight.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Two years of work experience at a higher education program or organizations that support students
