Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of research studies related to HIV prevention among MSM.
  • Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data, including surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
  • Assist in literature reviews and synthesis of research findings.
  • Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to ensure the relevance and impact of research activities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts, reports, and presentations for dissemination of research findings.
  • Participate in team meetings, research seminars, and other academic activities.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements governing research involving human subjects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal investigator or research supervisor.

Qualifications

Enrollment in a graduate program (Master's or Ph.D.) in public health, psychology, sociology, nursing, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with quantitative or qualitative research methods preferred.
  • Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R) and qualitative analysis software (e.g., NVivo) is a plus.
  • Spanish and Portuguese understanding.
  • Strong interest in sexual and gender minority health, HIV prevention, and public health research.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in research and academic settings.
