In this job, you'll lead a team of Project Managers who are responsible for delivering multiple Software projects in the Grid Management System portfolio that involves integrating Commercial Off-The-Shelf product with SCE's Grid and Enterprise applications and systems with a high degree of quality and within scope, schedule, and budget.

As part of the Grid Management System team, the Grid Information Technology - Project Management, Senior Manager, will partner with business clients and other IT teams, to provide project management oversight and direction to project teams to ensure solution and service delivery. You will handle all stages of the systems development life cycle, including analysis, estimation, design, evaluation, demonstration, construction, testing, implementation, and post-implementation support through warranty period. You will play a key role in enablement and automation of business capabilities, functions, processes, and products for the Grid Management System. You will:
  • Mentor and develop a team to lead project planning (scope, schedule, and budget), project initiation, project execution, and project closure by adhering to SCE IT standards and processes.
  • Lead project schedule and budget including cost plans, invoices, and work requests.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on project progress to management and clients.
  • Lead Resource Forecasting, Financial management, Change management, Deployment Readiness, Data Readiness, Network Modeling, IT Operational Readiness, Risk management, and project tracking and controls for assigned projects.
  • Responsible for capacity planning, forecasting, and balancing of human resource needs of project resources needed from business, IT and suppliers.
  • Proactively manage vendor contracts and resolve project risks and issues against project scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Use project controls to ensure quality delivery of key project artifacts, including monitoring of quality and project performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams (executives, management, engineering and developers, operations engineers, product owners, and business managers) to deliver projects and make investment decisions.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled project team meetings and sponsor updates to provide status on project results, achievements, and overall project work.
The Essentials
  • Five (5) or more years of experience managing or leading an organization/unit of direct reports, or serving as a project manager for the successful implementation of Information Technology projects.
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in a Technical, Engineering and/or Business - related Project Management role, leading successful implementation of projects against scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience supporting or leading Software projects or key business initiatives.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience with Deployment Readiness, IT Operational Readiness, Organization Change Management, Data Readiness, and Distribution Network Modeling.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience managing System Integration work to integrate Commercial Off-The-Shelf product with Enterprise applications and systems.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience managing project quality, including quality assurance, metrics, and quality controls.
  • Three (3) or more years of professional work experience managing suppliers, service contracts, project metrics, and contracts to meet project objectives.
  • Experience with electric utility business processes, with emphasis in either Information Technology, Information Security, Grid Technology, or other related technical functions.
The Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical major.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience working as an IT Project Manager in a regulated industry.
  • Five (5) or more years of IT portfolio and customer relationship management experience.
  • Five (5) or more years or experience working with Grid Control systems. (SCADA, Distribution Management System, Outage Management System) and deployment of DER capabilities.
  • Experience executing projects in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Professional training and certifications consistent with Project Management, including one or more of the following\\: Six Sigma, ITIL, PMP, Agile and/or Scrum certification.
  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously and using Microsoft project as a tool to lead execution.

  • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs
