Job Description
• Direct the development, implementation and evaluation of the nursing regimen for patients/clients within an assigned unit involving the diagnosis and treatment of responses to actual potential health problems by means of nursing methods and techniques such as case finding, health teaching, health counseling and the provision of care supportive, restorative and well-being.
• Coordinates the preparation and maintenance of nursing care plans and progress notes on patients/clients. Assess each patient needs and establishes appropriate plan of care Based on Nursing Assessment and diagnosis.
• Maintains standards of care by ensuring that an individualized plan of care for each patient is developed and implemented.
• Coordinates patient care by collaborating with multidisciplinary team to develop plans to meet the needs of patient and family.
• Initiates patient care rounds with physicians and participates with team in developing priorities of patient care.
• Communicates effectively with the patient/family, medical, nursing, and other staff during treatment planning and implementation of the plan.
• Schedules, assigns, guides, direct and instruct nursing personnel in nursing activities.
• Monitors Quality improvement activities and ensures that staff collects data and submits written reports monthly.
• Supervises professional and non-professional personnel.
• Demonstrates ability in performing Psychiatric Nursing skills proficiently.

Minimum Qualifications
1. A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; and
2. Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); and
3. One (1) year of experience as a registered nurse.
