General Information:
The Department of Health Sciences is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented student assistant for the 2024-2025 academic year. This position will specifically support the Health Sciences Main Office Reception Desk. The student must be available to work 10 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Provide assistance to faculty/staff as needed
-Record management, computerized and manual
-Filing, data entry using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software
-Operation of copier/scanner, fax machine
-Complete projects and any other duties assigned by faculty and staff in a timely manner
-Answer incoming phone calls and direct accordingly as well as helping monitor departmental email inbox
-Assist visitors in the main office suite or direct accordingly
-Respect the confidentiality of the documents being handled and the department
-Be responsible, dependable, and professional at all times
Qualifications:
-Ability to work independently
-Good communication skills, in-person and via various technology
-Professional attitude
-Shows initiative
-Excellent organizational skills
-Proficient with Excel and Word
-Willing to work up to 10 hours per week
-Federal Work Study Eligible
Conditions of Employment:
Students must be degree-seeking students, enrolled on at least a half-time basis (6 credits for undergraduate and 5 credits for graduate).
Students must have a 2.0 or better cumulative GPA.
