Job Duties:

The Division for Aging Services within the Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services (DARS), in collaboration with community partners, provides and advocates for resources and services that improve the lives of older Virginians to live independently longer and participate fully in their communities. The Division for Aging Services provides leadership to the COV to assure Virginia is the best place in America for individuals to live, work, raise a family, and age.

We are seeking a Human Services Program Coordinator. The incumbent will enhance the quality of programs provided through Virginia's Area Agencies on Aging by providing information, training, technical assistance, interpretation of program report data, and monitoring to ensure compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations in the delivery of services that enhance older Virginians' quality of life and delay unnecessary institutionalization for as long as possible.

The incumbent serves as a subject matter expert on caregiver issues and programs to support them within the Commonwealth, oversees the Virginia Lifespan Respite Voucher Program and assists with the facilitation of the Virginia Caregiver Coalition.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

Knowledge/Experience -

Experience working with older adults, family caregivers and/or older adult programming and monitoring for compliance with federal and state requirements. Experience coordinating federal grants and analyzing various types of complex information and preparing statistical and narrative reports. Experience managing multiple priorities.

Skills/Abilities-

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat and Zoom. Ability to develop, arrange for and provide training and to convey information clearly and concisely to various audiences both orally and in writing. Ability to assess internal processes and procedures relating to assigned programs and update as needed.

Additional Considerations:

Knowledge of local and state government operations and of the Older Americans Act (OAA).
