Why does the job exist?

This position will provide analytical and technical support to ensure Identity, Equity and Transformation federal accountability requirements. The data analyst will be responsible for data cleaning, validation of data, documentation of business rules, and conducting analysis of data sets. The analyst will be required to contribute to the development of reports, the presentation of data, and other duties as assigned.

How does it get done?

¿ Discerns patterns and correlates diverse set of information to conceptualize and then translates ideas from abstract to concrete, transforming data into an audience-appropriate story to formulate actionable strategies and solutions to problems, addressing questions and concerns presented by division leadership and the agency.
¿ Demonstrates the impact of analytics¿ contribution to division and agency¿s mission and strategic goals.
¿ Clearly and concisely communicates complex information to a variety of audiences through a variety of mediums.
¿ Interprets results of quantitative models, identifies trends and issues, and develops alternatives to support division and agency objectives.
¿ Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to create accurate and meaningful dashboards providing data visualization communicating actionable information.
¿ Builds and maintains analytical tools to ensure division¿s monitoring ability of emerging trends.
¿ Completes complex analysis using multiple methods and tools.
¿ Defines standard measures, algorithms, and data marts for use by other analysts to manage analytic foundation, improve performance, and facilitate repeatability and reproducibility.
¿ Performs advanced ad-hoc analysis when required and collaborates with leadership on prioritization.
¿ Takes initiative to collaborate and remediate with analytic team/peers, data stewards, and data custodians when data obstacles are identified.
¿ Collaborates on solutions and potential workarounds when analytics team identifies data anomalies.
¿ Maintains advanced working knowledge of BI tools such as SAS, Business Objects, Tableau, Strata.
¿ Contributes toward creating value story demonstrating impact of analytics contribution to agency¿s mission and strategic goals.

Ideal Candidate

*Have experience with Governmental policies, regulations, procedures, and mandated timelines.
*Able to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and multiple projects requiring attention at the same time.
*Organized and an excellent time manager.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other related field with seven (7) years of experience directly related to position at time of posting. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience totaling eleven (11) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico's Driver's License.

Working Conditions

Office setting, exposure to Visual/Video Display terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
