Why does the job exist?

The IT Network Administrator I will:
  • Participates in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the overall HCA network;
  • Monitors network performance and proactively identifies and remediates any issues to ensure maximum network stability and uptime.
  • Respond to requests for assistance with a variety of network issues, including routing, DNS, and site whitelisting;
  • Perform routine maintenance on HCA¿s network, including on-site visits to remote HCA locations.


How does it get done?

The IT Network Administrator I is responsible for:
  • Leveraging a multitude of tools and systems from Cisco, Palo, Alto, and other vendors to perform the core functions of the position;
  • Working with a team of systems administrators, network administrators, and help desk personnel, from inside and outside of HCA, to complete the required duties and;
  • Communicating with all relevant stakeholders to ensure optimal network performance.

  • The Health Care Authority staff, vendors, contractors, other state employees, and clients.


Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has:
  • An associate's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in end user support, systems administration or network administration.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.

Working Conditions

Office setting with extensive computer and phone usage, resulting in long periods of sitting.

Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
