About the Agency

The Virginia Department of Fire Programs serves the citizens of the Commonwealth by enhancing public safety through supplemental funding to local governments, education, and training to first responders, fire prevention and life safety education through community risk reduction, and statewide fire code enforcement. The objective of the Business ServicesBranch is to provide superior administrative support to the Agency, its employees, instructors, the Virginia Fire Services Board, it's stakeholders and the Commonwealth of Virginia.

About the Position

The IT Project Coordinator will provide oversight support of IT projects for the agency. This position will report to the IT Manager and is responsible for initiating, planning, and implementing Information Technology solutions for business initiatives, while providing project and technical leadership throughout the lifecycle. The IT Project Manager ensures all thatprojects remain in compliance with VDFP and Commonwealth policies, procedures, and guidelines, effectively communicating processes and best practices to management and stakeholders. This position develops and maintains solid working relationships with VDFP partners, customers, internal and external project workgroups, contract teams, and other projectstakeholders.

This position will also be a member of the IT Services team and assist in providing information technology end user support, including but not limited to the installation and maintenance of the agency in and out of scope PC hardware; installation of PC software using image deployment utilities; providing user support for hardware and software, technical support for PC andLAN related problems, end user password resets, contacting vendors for equipment repair, equipment and related software procurement, coordination of video conference management and providing email client support and helpdesk support.

Minimum Qualifications

• Proven experience in project administration activities to include but not limited to successfully developing, implementing,
and leading projects from initiation to completion.
• Demonstrated excellence in managing multiple projects, varying in risk and complexity, with diverse project teams.
• Experience in design and coordination of events, presentations, and proposals.
• Effectively tracking and communicating project progress from a schedule, cost, and risk perspective to the project team,
stakeholders, and management.
• Knowledge and experience with the systems development life cycle and various methodologies including AGILE, and
associated tools.
• Ability to demonstrate discretion while working with confidential information.
• Experience with IT contracts, software proposals, Request for Proposals, procurement duties, and engaging with vendors.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent computer operation skills, knowledge of the Microsoft Suite to include Word, Excel, Access, Access, PowerPoint, and
SharePoint.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot a complex system, network connectivity and performance issues.
• Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot network printers.
• Knowledge of Windows Operations System (Windows 10/11).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with little to no supervision.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently.
• Demonstrated organization and prioritization skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a with degree of tack and diplomacy that support the agency's Code of Ethics.
• Experience working in high volume environment involving multiple projects and priorities.
• Travel may be required to support training and attendance at conferences.

Additional Considerations

Extensive experience IT Project Coordination/Management and experience in supporting a multi-user environment and Network/LANS, Active Directory, Windows server and PC Desktop OS and MS Office Suite, and AV support and installs.
