Description

  • Provide support and technical assistance to teachers and staff working with students who exhibit behavioral and academic challenges within the school environment or by providing engaging student experiences.
  • Develop effective behavioral and academic interventions in collaboration with the campus team to address the needs of identified at-risk students.
  • Develop and implement social, emotional lessons that promotes self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, healthy relationships, problem solving, and responsible decision-making.
  • Serve as a liaison between students, campus staff, and resource centers.
  • Coordinate and leverage various internal and external resources and/or partnerships that support positive student development.
  • Progress monitor and collect data to determine the effectiveness of student interventions.
  • Make positive connections with identified students and assist with modeling appropriate social skills and scholarly behavior through engaging activities.
  • Maintain communication with all stakeholders; parents, teacher of record, and other

    district personnel
  • Participate in activities required by the Texas Behavior Support Initiative (SB 1196), which includes providing district-wide training in non-violent crisis intervention and using physical restraint when needed.
  • Maintain accurate case records and required accountability documentation.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in a directly related field; Master's Degree preferred
  • Valid Texas teacher certification required with required endorsement for subject and subject grade level
  • Minimum 2+ years of classroom teaching experience preferred
  • Competence in designing interventions to change inappropriate student behaviors.
  • Demonstrated skills in team building, problem-solving, and collaboration.
  • Effective communication skills, including a calm demeanor and a demonstrated ability to avoid conflict while remaining professional during a crisis or conflictual situation.
  • Time management, dependability, and punctuality as a demonstrated practice.
