Job Summary

The mission of Tutoring Services is to provide services that meet the needs of our diverse student population, advocate for students' ownership of their education, encourage persistence toward academic goals, and develop lifelong learning skills. Tutoring Services is committed to cultivating inclusive and supportive spaces for all students to learn and reach their educational goals.

The Student Worker Clerical position exists to provide support with general office duties and special projects. This position will also collaborate with staff to market mentoring services, recruit student mentors and provide administrative support for the On Track Peer Mentoring program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at a credit granting institution or at a non-credit granting institution and must be carrying at least six semester (nine quarter) credits.
  • If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, the student must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, including listening, speaking, writing and the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations in a positive, courteous, and helpful manner.
  • Ability to accurately input, verify, and edit electronic data.
  • Knowledge of computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases sufficient to create, modify, and protect files.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with or knowledge of diverse populations, including but not limited to students of color, non-traditional adult learners, low-income, first-generation, Veterans, and students with disabilities.
  • Demonstrates an effort to improve cultural competence and actively takes steps to include diversity training in professional development.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with strong organizational skills, leadership skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
