Georgia-Pacific Green Bay (Packerland facility) is now hiring for a plant Operations Manager. In this role you will be responsible for leading, coaching, & developing frontline leaders, supporting the capabilities and development of our hourly workforce, and driving results through data utilization and performance management. We're seeking a transformative leader who will own accountability for the results of the plant that are impacted by their team's performance and capability. A successful candidate will have a transformative mindset, excellent communication and interpersonal tools, constructive challenge skills, the ability to stay current on data trends and best practices, and a desire to make a positive impact on others. This role has the potential to be a great developmental opportunity for the right leader within Georgia-Pacific.

Our Team

The Packerland facility manufactures and distributes leading commercial brands of paper products (napkins, facial tissue, food wrap, and bags). This role at Packerland partners with all internal employees, as well as with other GP mills, to develop and execute on employee initiatives that improve the reliability, productivity, and safety of the Packerland operation.

What You Will Do
  • Role Modeling the behaviors and actions that advance our Principle Based Management® (PBM®) Culture and the organizational vision
  • Coaching, leading, mentoring and developing employees to continuously improve their knowledge and skills, and performance to create long-term value for the organization
  • Interfacing with area and crew leaders, manufacturing engineers, learning and development teams and facility Subject Matter Experts to identify and address performance and knowledge gaps
  • Managing individual performance and holding individuals accountable for their results through vision setting and performance feedback
  • Developing improvement strategies through data / trend analysis to help the team make better decisions on top opportunities and related actions
  • Be the leader in advancing individual capability through strategic coaching and creative training materials and procedures
  • Hold team and individuals accountable for operating strategies and results


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree or higher, OR five (5) years of converting leadership experience, OR ten (10) or more years of experience leading groups in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience utilizing data analysis to make decisions and take action
  • Experience working in a continuous manufacturing environment
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools in the following manner: Excel - (sorting data, creating tables and graphs); Outlook - (scheduling tasks, calendar invitations and general professional correspondence); Word - (document creation/editing); PowerPoint - (presentation creation/editing)
  • Experience in tracking, record keeping, and document management.


What Will Put You Ahead
  • Lean Six Sigma (LSS) experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Manufacturing or Operations Management or related area
  • Experience coaching and mentoring employees to improve their knowledge and skills, as well as performance
  • Leadership responsibility developing capabilities, and creating accountability in an PBM® culture
  • Experience using Kronos
  • Working knowledge of a converting operation
  • Experience communicating (written and orally), and presenting to individual contributors to senior management
