It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content as part of the core role/as part of project/ in response to escalation requests/by chance.
This may occur in the form of images, video, and text related to every-day life, but it can also include (but is not limited to) bullying; hate speech; child safety; depictions of harm to self and others, and harm to animals.

Real World Harm Trust & Safety team at TikTok is dedicated to working to protect our community from harmful content and behaviors such as violent extremism, hateful behavior, mental health and human exploitation, and building a safe environment for TikTok users. As a product manager on our team, you will work with various relevant TNS internal teams such as engineers, data scientists, operations, product, algos, policies, and will also collaborate with various business teams like video, photo, audio, account, comments and so on, to build safety product features and strategies. You will be working on safety features, technical strategies to improve our trust and safety processes, methods to detect and address risky behaviors and actors in the community. Your role will contribute to a high-performing team that owns several large whole-of-Trust & Safety projects with high visibility and impact. Travel between our global offices is expected.

Responsibilities
- Drive complex projects independently, define product roadmap, and set success metrics for product area
- Build effective and scalable features and tools for minors to provide them with safe and enriching experiences
- Define scope, requirements, use cases, test cases, and design specifications, in partnership with UI/UX design and writing
- Analyze results of product changes with data science team to inform product roadmap and feature iterations
- Partner with program management and policy teams to guide product strategy and implementation
- Work closely with minor safety and adolescent wellness experts, as well as cross-functional partners, to ensure vertical alignment with latest industry research and insights
- Your ability to work in a high tempo environment, adapt, respond to day-to-day challenges of the role.
- Your resilience and commitment to self-care to manage the emotional demands of the role.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in product management in consumer facing mobile or web internet companies
- Data-driven, capable of in-depth data interpretation and utilizing data for prioritization and/or decision making
- Ability to design product solutions based on evidence; proven track record of delivering value-adding products, and/or organizational or process changes that benefit the business
- Strong project management and communication skills, able to influence and unite cross-functional teams
- Passionate about creating safe and enriching experiences for minors; Basic knowledge of online digital safety
- Up-to-date and in tune with emerging online safety issues, with keen intuition on creating solutions and preventive measures for tackling them

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience of working with international partners across different time zones and cultures
- Experience in Trust & Safety; Basic knowledge of safety by design principles
- Understanding of the landscape and new policy developments in the tech industry and online safety
- Prior experience managing products with safety-related success metrics highly desirable
- Prior experience managing products related to human and/or machine-based moderation to remove harmful content highly desirable
