The Division of Intergovernmental Relations (DIR) within the Department of Administration provides a broad array of services to the public and state, local, and tribal governments. It supports counties, municipalities, citizens, and businesses by providing support services in land use planning, land information and records modernization, municipal boundary review, plat review, demography, and coastal management programs. We also work to strengthen the relationship between the State of Wisconsin and the governments of the state's 11 federally recognized Native American tribes.

Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program Section Chief, provide assistance in coastal resilience efforts including facilitation of communities of practice, project management, logistical coordination of meetings, development of outreach material, and coordination with partner organization and agencies.

Salary Information

Starting hourly rate for this position will be $20.65-$34.03 per hour depending on qualifications and experience, plus excellent benefits . This position in this classification is assigned to pay schedule/range 07-04. This position is non-exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan

Job Details

Project positions are eligible for benefits including health insurance. The incumbent does not attain permanent civil service status. The funding for this position is scheduled to end on August 15, 2028. The incumbent must be a Wisconsin resident.

Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form.

Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. Qualifications

Qualified applicants will have the following:
  • Experience working with resiliency, climate sustainability, resource protection/enhancement, and equity.
  • Experience developing and maintaining outreach materials such as newsletters or websites.
  • Experience identifying emerging state coastal management issues and opportunities.
  • Experience in facilitating and participating in networks, teams, work groups, or communities of practice.
  • Experience in tracking and reporting on progress of multiple tasks.
  • Working knowledge of critical diverse coastal management issues, such as adaptive management required as we continue to experience climate change, water quality, port and waterfront economic redevelopment, and public outreach.
