Summary
  • Position Summary
    • This position is for someone interested in joining a hands-on, diverse scientific team at the Center for Molecular Medicine (CMM), a part of the MHIR - MaineHealth Institute for Research (mmcri.org). This role provides support for a wide variety of administrative and professional activities for the biomedical research team. This Program Coordinator supports the CMM Center Director, Dr. Adriana Rosato, who provides leadership to 20 Principal Investigators (PI's) who make up the Center for Molecular Medicine.

      The responsibilities of this role include:
      • Supports the Center Director with event, meeting, and travel planning for both internal and external activities
      • Provides all on-site or off-site event coordination for a series of recurring hybrid programs. This includes calendaring, space, food, technology, meeting notes, travel arrangements, and visitors' schedules for:
        • Principal Investigator monthly meetings
        • Weekly Data Review Series
        • CMM Seminar Speaker Series
        • Other programs, as requested
      • Curates materials for the monthly CMM Update to the MHIR Staff Meeting, the MHIR annual report, and other initiatives as requested
      • Facilitates data collection for the CMM/Tufts University faculty promotion process
      • Supports the Cardiovascular Institute pilot projects & awards process
      • Maintains the Center's publication/presentation list, as well as public access compliance

      • Submits CMM expense reports and supply orders, as appropriate
      • Supports the Center Director and PIs with laboratory equipment inventory/maintenance
    • Skills and characteristics that are critical to this role include: professionalism, project management skills to track details over many concurrent projects, timeliness, flexibility, comfort with Microsoft software applications, ability to work independently while maintaining good communication with the Center Director.

      This position is based on-site at our Scarborough, ME location.

  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in related field.
    • License/Certifications: N/A
    • Experience: See "Education." Approximately one to two years related work experience.
    • Knowledge of project management, and educational practices.
    • Basic knowledge of healthcare systems, with previous experience in healthcare industry and customer service preferred.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including drafts of correspondence and other written materials.
    • Strong software and computer skills, including Microsoft Office (including Power Point, Access, and Excel), database development and website development
    • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and maintain relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
    • Ability to work both independently and to collaborate with teams of individuals in diverse settings.
    • Analytical ability to gather and interpret data in situation where the problems are moderately complex.
    • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
