Position Summary

The Department of Sociomedical Sciences at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health is seeking a full-time Project Coordinator to work as part of a mental illness anti-stigma communication research team led by Dr. Melissa DuPont-Reyes. The research study aims to disentangle the bidirectional relationship between social media and mental illness among adolescents. It includes the adaptation of a photovoice intervention for Latinx youth and their parents using participatory action research and a longitudinal survey in a cohort of Latinx youth. Included is a proof-of-concept pilot project to assess whether this classic community-partnered research yields a greater impact on mental health disparities reduction versus data science and technology approaches, especially when weighed against the ecological costs required to do the research. The Project Coordinator will work closely with Dr. DuPont-Reyes to assist with data collection, monitoring and evaluation, IRB submissions, and reports. We are looking for a Project Coordinator with experience in community engagement, research participant recruitment and enrollment, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis skills.
