Department Summary

NTERI advances research, education, and clinical care by understanding the visual system and preventing, treating, and finding cures for disorders of the eye. NTERI is committed to lead the scientific community as a world-renowned authority that seeks to eliminate racial and ethnic healthcare disparities, and develop effective interventions to eradicate eye diseases and disorders.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated project coordinator to oversee all aspects of our Institute's programs and activities. This role focuses exclusively on programmatic oversight and does not include responsibility for budgetary matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program management, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for advancing our Institute's mission through effective program implementation and community engagements position reports directly to the Institute's Executive Director, focusing solely on programmatic aspects to ensure the Institute's programs thrive and contribute effectively to our mission. The role offers an opportunity to lead impactful initiatives, engage with diverse communities, and contribute to the Institute's overall success in advancing research, education, and community outreach.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, public administration, nonprofit management) required; advanced degree preferred.
• Proven experience in program management, with a track record of successfully overseeing multiple programs or projects simultaneously.
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams toward achieving programmatic objectives.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with diverse stakeholders, including community members.
• Analytical mindset with proficiency in monitoring and evaluating programmatic data to drive continuous improvement.
• Commitment to the mission and values of the Institute, with a passion for making a positive impact through programmatic initiatives and community engagement.
• Ability to work with multiple teams and stakeholders.

Job Duties:
  • Manage and supervise all Institute programs and activities, ensuring they align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for program growth and enhancement, in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Coordinate program activities across various departments or teams within the Institute to ensure cohesive implementation and efficient use of resources.
  • Establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess program effectiveness and impact, making data-driven recommendations for improvements.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including faculty, students, partners, funders, and community members, to support programmatic goals and enhance collaboration opportunities.
  • Develop and implement strategies for engaging the community in Institute programs, fostering partnerships, and ensuring programs meet community needs and expectations.
  • Prepare regular reports on program performance and outcomes for Executive Director and stakeholders.
  • Ensure programs adhere to relevant regulations, policies, and procedures, including ethical standards and best practices in program management.
