Department Summary

The University of North Texas Health Science Center Department of Pediatrics and Women's Health is seeking to hire a Project Coordinator to join our Team in support of "We're All for Them" a project working in partnership with school districts, healthcare providers, and other community organizations to make sure Texas adolescents and their families in our communities have access to life-saving resources and accurate immunization information.

Position Overview

The University of North Texas Health Science Center is collaborating with the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health on a 3.5-year grant aimed at increasing HPV vaccination among ethnic-minority youth in multiple medically underserved areas across Texas. Project activities include delivery of a social marketing campaign aimed at English and Spanish-speaking parents, delivery of school-based vaccination clinics at public middle schools, and statewide education of school nurses to improve communication with parents about HPV vaccination.

Under the general direction of the UNTHSC Principal Investigator, Dr. Amy Raines-Milenkov, the Research Coordinator I will conduct activities to support the research project. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

*Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Public Health, related field, or equivalent combination of education or experience.

Job Duties:
  • Assists with day-to-day project management, in coordination with senior research staff at the partner agency (UTHealth Houston School of Public Health).
  • Serve as liaison to Fort Worth Independent School Districts and various healthcare provider mobile clinic partners to ensure that all activities related to vaccination clinics run according to plan. Tasks include regular and clear communication with providers, district partners, school nurses, and other school contacts to coordinate scheduling and prepare for school-based vaccination clinics.
  • Assist with intervention planning and development, including translation of Spanish-language messages.
  • Provide vaccination education, including messages about HPV vaccination, to middle school parents, in English and Spanish.
  • Participate in implementation of mobile vaccination clinic activities. Weekly travel within greater Fort Worth area (and rare travel outside of the Fort Worth metroplex) is required.
  • Assist with preparation of clinic related materials, message delivery, and data collection activities.
  • Assist in coordination of evaluation activities, including distribution of surveys.
  • Maintains confidential records of collected data. Ensures accuracy and integrity of data.
  • Participates in weekly team meetings.
  • Complies with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulations, and codes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
