Job Description:

Federal Capacity Funds Management
Manage the administration of Federal Capacity Funds, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
Prepare accurate financial data and reports related to these funds, providing essential information for decision-making.
Assist with budget and salary matters.
Calculate and distribute Federal Capacity salaries across all IFAS units.
Monitor and supervise cash draws from these funds.
Ensure compliance with USDA guidelines for allocations directly funded by USDA (currently in KKIFAS budget ledger group).
Coordinate effort reporting, payroll distribution, and expenditure analysis to optimize fund utilization.
Provide timely and accurate financial reports to both USDA and UF.

Post-Award Accounting
Manage post-award accounting within the Federal Capacity Funds.
Review expenditures and monitor financial activities (e.g., negative balances, budget exceptions), identifying any anomalies or discrepancies.
Facilitate budget transfers and resolve accounting issues. Address accounting issues promptly and effectively.
Serve as backup for other personnel in the IFAS Finance Administration Office.

Support and Training
Serve as backup for other personnel in the IFAS Finance Administration Office.
Assist units with fiscal issues, including resolving budget errors and negative balances.
Generate scheduled and ad hoc reports.
Conduct training sessions on fiscal matters for UF/IFAS departments as needed.

Commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in grant and contract administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prefer knowledge of USDA policies and regulations regarding use of Research and Extension federal formula funds for faculty working on federal projects
Knowledge of Uniform Guidance 2 CFR 200
Knowledge of accepted accounting standards and principles
Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financial and HR modules, myinvestiGator, UFIRST, Space Reporting and Asset Management.
Knowledge of methods of data collection
Ability to communicate with and mediate between people of varying levels
Ability to work independently and produce critical path results in different areas simultaneously according to appropriate priorities
Ability to understand and apply applicable statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments
Ability to use programs/software such as PeopleSoft, Word, Excel, and various web-based products
Ability and willingness to travel to off campus research center for reviews and training on accounting issues.
