John Zink, a Koch Engineered Solutions Company, is looking to add a Senior Director of Account Management & Technical Support.

This leader will grow and develop our North American outside sales capability. The successful candidate for this role will be responsible for leading the outside sales territory managers, technical sales and support personnel, and aftermarket inside sales for all the combustion and emission control product lines. This high-visibility leadership role will require a candidate with a strong customer focus, excellent economic thinking and communication skills, and demonstrated performance in a commercial leadership role, developing team capability and growing profitable business. The successful candidate will be expected to act independently to cultivate a team culture of accountability, creativity, innovation, collaboration, and to develop mutually beneficial relationships with our customers.

As part of the John Zink team, the selected individual would be working with technically sophisticated customers to provide engineered solutions for a wide range of industries and develop a sales team focused on profitable growth and providing high quality customer experiences.

This role will report to the General Manager for the combustion business in the Americas. The preference is for this role to be based at one of our facilities in Tulsa, OK; Wichita, KS; or Houston, TX.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and coach the aftermarket parts, RCA, and key account management teams: create a vision, set goals, and define a strategy for achieving established objectives while continuously improving the team's talent position
  • Advance a culture where contribution motivated employees increasingly self-actualize by aligning each employee's abilities and interests with value creating opportunities consistent with the business vision
  • Develop growth strategies in alignment with the Product Line owners and with a focus on supporting the customer for the life of the asset (i.e., new sales, installation and maintenance services, aftermarket parts, and technical consulting for optimal operation)
  • Understand market conditions, industry trends, and business operations to inform business marketing and sales strategy development for profitable growth
  • Identify areas for improvement that transform the growth of the business
  • Work collaboratively across the business with management teams (i.e., multiple product line managers, marketing, engineering, project management, supply chain, etc.) to achieve business results
  • Own aftermarket P&L, including establishing bookings and booked profit targets, pricing strategies, and forecasting for S&OP
  • Monitor the performance of commercial activities using key metrics and adjust the work of the team to create maximum long-term value


The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements (Basic Qualifications):

  • Experience developing and improving capabilities of leaders on your team
  • Experience hiring and developing sales talent to achieve business results
  • Knowledgeable in evaluating the performance of commercial activities through data analysis
  • Experience utilizing a value-based sales methodology anchored in business acumen, economic analysis, and marginal analysis
  • Experience developing customer relationships at senior leadership levels and with key decision makers, including establishing corporate partnerships
  • Willing and able to travel up to 75%


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Existing network of customers and sales professionals within the downstream refining and petrochemical marketplace
  • Experience using Salesforce.com to manage opportunity pipeline
  • Background in the combustion industry
  • Experience working in the refining and petrochemical industries
  • Experience working with EPC's and Engineering firms
  • Application of Principled Based Management in a leadership role within a Koch company to drive transformation
  • Experience developing strategic sales plans across a matrixed organization with results measured through effective metrics
  • Experience in negotiation and risk management of capital projects
