Job Description

This role is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs and knowledge resources to support youth protection and risk management strategies across YMCA organizations served by YESS-Risk Management. The Specialist, YESS Risk Management - Curriculum & Knowledge plays a crucial role in safeguarding youth and stakeholders by creating engaging learning experiences that promote best practices in risk management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Risk Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in curriculum development, instructional design, and training delivery, with at least 3 years focused on child safety or risk management
  • Proven expertise in e-learning development and learning management systems (LMS)
  • Strong understanding of child safety and risk management best practices, regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills
  • Proficiency in developing engaging learning resources and utilizing multimedia tools
  • Experience working in a non-profit or youth-serving organization is preferred


Essential Functions

  • Conduct needs assessments and design innovative training programs, resources, and evaluation tools aligned with best practices in child safety and risk management
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive online knowledge base, ensuring efficient access to up-to-date information for youth-serving organizations
  • Deliver effective training using various methods (online, in-person, blended) and assess impact through evaluation tools to drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to align training initiatives with broader risk management strategies and organizational needs
  • Stay current on evolving best practices, legal requirements, and emerging technologies to enhance learning experiences and content relevance
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support on risk management to internal and external stakeholders
