Patton State Hospital, Human Resources Department is accepting applications to fill at least one (1) Limited Term, Full-time Staff Services Analyst vacancy in the Human Resources-Compensation Unit. May also consider a Senior Personnel Specialist. Selected incumbent may also be eligible for an annual recruitment and retention payment of $2,400.00 in accordance with Pay Differential 240 (as a Sr. Personnel Specialist only). Limited term positions may be extended up to 24 months and/or become permanent.

The Staff Services Analyst/Senior Personnel Specialist will have lead and full responsibility for the Human Resources Customer Service (Intake) Program, benefit submission and the dependent reverification project, monitoring staff on long-term, non-work-related leave such as Non-industrial Disability and State Disability (NDI/SDI) and military leave, pay differentials, A01/verification of employment responses, audits and special projects. This position is required to respond verbally and in writing to any personnel department questions by current and new staff; and perform customer service functions of the personnel office.

Typical tasks include but are not limited to: apply State laws, rules, and regulations, applying and complying with bargaining unit contracts, a variety of personnel/payroll transactions including accurate processing, certifying and reconciling payroll transactions, and employment transactions. Knowledge and expertise in working with various computer systems such as Word, Excel, Access, State Controllers personnel/payroll systems and transactions such as, NDI, SDI, IDL, CSP, PIMS, PIP, Benefits, CLAS etc. are highly desirable.

The successful candidate must have proficient math, computer, oral & written communication skills, flexible to changing situations, dependable, exercise tact & good judgment, maintain confidentiality, meet & adhere to strict deadlines. The individual may be required to work overtime to ensure completion of assignments & projects. Statement of Qualifications : In addition to the State Application (STD. 678), applicants must submit a no more than two-page Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) describing and detailing the experience, education, and knowledge you possess in Human Resources or related field which are critical to your success in this role. Candidates must also describe in detail their skills and ability to complete projects as well as provide an example of when you were responsible for a significant work-related project and the outcome. Working Conditions

Patton is a forensic psychiatric hospital and was established in 1890 and opened in 1893. DSH-Patton provides treatment to forensically and civilly committed patients within a secure treatment area. The hospital does not accept voluntary admissions.
