Key Responsibilities:

United's Digital Fleet Management (DFM) team is a group of experts dedicated to using aircraft, engine and ground equipment asset and telemetry data to improve United's operations by implementing predictive maintenance and aircraft connectivity technology. The Analyst for Digital Fleet Management Products will support planning for the development of software applications used within the DFM team. This includes United's in-house and third-party predictive maintenance platforms, interfaces with Tech Ops Digital Technology systems, automation systems to trigger servicing and maintenance tasks and workflows for health monitoring analysts and engineers to analyze asset sensor data.

  • Serves as a product owner for United's in-house digital fleet management platforms. Creates and manages product road maps for in-house predictive maintenance applications supporting the data analytics, aircraft health monitoring and engineering teams. Collaborates with United's digital technology teams for long-term platform support and troubleshooting. Supports continuous improvement initiatives to ensure scalability of applications with growing fleet size and predictive analytics.
  • Learns and applies Agile project management disciplines of planning, executing, and overseeing a project to achieve specific goals within defined constraints such as scope, time, and budget. Facilitates the development of applications in Palantir Foundry, overseeing project timelines and issue tracking through JIRA (issue tracking software) for efficient project management and resolution.
  • Supports the Process Standardization and Change Management teams during projects, ensuring that all training and communication requirements for documentation and user guides are effectively incorporated for end-user groups, including the engineering and aircraft health monitoring teams. As a product owner, is the Subject Matter Expert relied upon by the Process Standardization and Change Management teams to provide input into process documentation and implementation plans.


NOTE: This position is based at the CSC - Willis Tower, located in Chicago, IL. and considered as a hybrid work-schedule working two days in the office between Tuesdays and Thursdays. However, that may evolve with the needs of the company.

Qualifications

What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a business, technology, engineering or data driven role
  • Exposure to Agile software development concepts (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
  • Ability to define a project scope by collaborating with appropriate stakeholders
  • Project management and organization skills with ability to work collaboratively
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with ability to effectively interact with all internal and external business partners
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time


What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Airline experience or operations experience in a similar industry
  • Experience working with advanced analytics applications and operational technology
  • Familiarization with airline operations (Maintenance, Network Operations/Dispatch, Flight Operations or Inflight)
  • Ability to develop and communicate strategic product roadmaps and project plans
  • Ability to facilitate workshops with end users and digital technology/analytics teams to develop new applications and workflows
