Job Description

Job Responsibilities:
- Greet and direct patients/families/visitors in a pleasant manner, even in stressful situations; in accordance with unit security policies/procedures, orient patient/family to the unit.
- Communicate effectively in English (both oral and written). Utilize language line phone when needed.
- Take all appropriate actions to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Use two patient identifiers at all times.
- Serve as a Coordinator for Pediatric Child Protection Center.
- Perform a computerized patient registration for Pediatric Child Protection Center using EPIC.
- Responsible for scheduling, rescheduling and canceling appointments when patients present in person or by phone using EPIC.
- Perform moderately difficult and responsible clerical work in maintaining and checking various kinds of records in both electronic and paper form, scan records into EPIC using Medical Manager.
- Send and receive faxes; page personnel as requested. Create/mail patient appointment letters/notices and make reminder calls.
- Performs all duties and tasks assigned by Supervisor and/or designee.

Minimum Qualifications
1. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department
of Education or a recognized accrediting organization; and
2. Eighteen (18) months of full-time satisfactory clerical experience.

Skills Requirement:
Keyboard familiarity with the ability to type at a minimum of 100 key strokes (20 words) per
minute.
