The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Clinical Research Administrator I.

The O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of 51 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the United States and is the only one in Alabama and in the Deep South region. A comprehensive designation also means UAB Medicine patients have access to leading-edge treatments or clinical trials that they may not otherwise have at local community hospitals or smaller cancer centers. General Responsibilities
  • To manage intake, triage, assessment and distribution of study materials.
  • To collect and process information related to studies.
  • To maintain records and documentation.
  • To maintain study's compliance with institutional requirements.
  • To work with sponsors/study team to arrange required trainings and meetings.
  • To maintain familiarity with appropriate Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and regulations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Manages intake, triage, assessment and distribution of study materials. Collects and processes information related to studies. Maintains records and documentation. Maintains study's compliance with institutional requirements.
  2. Processes payments in institutional financial systems. Runs reports as needed in OnCore.
  3. Recognizes when to escalate issues, as appropriate.
  4. Works with sponsors/study team to arrange required trainings and meetings.
  5. Assembles lab kits specific to clinical trial protocol requirements.
  6. Performs clinical trial patient lab and procedure orders in IDX or related software.
  7. Utilizes Impact system for patient care documentation.
  8. Completes forms and obtains physician and/or staff signatures.
  9. Assists with patient scheduling.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.


Hourly Range: $18.85 - $30.65

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.

Preferences
  • Understanding of related scientific and clinical terminology.
  • Ability to operate various office machines including printers, computers, and various software packages.
