The Water Projects Planning and Management Branch is seeking a motivated individual to join a diverse group of professionals with multidisciplinary backgrounds, working on rewarding projects that are necessary for the continued operations of the State Water Project that delivers water to over 27 million Californians.

In addition to the planning and management of the South Delta Temporary Barriers Project, you will have the opportunity to work on technical assignments and studies relating to water supply, water quality, fisheries, dredging, and environmental compliance. Duties: The Engineer, Water Resources, under the direction of the Senior Engineer, Water Resources in the Temporary Barriers Program in the Division of Operations and Maintenance, Water Projects Planning and Management Branch, Delta Water Infrastructure Management Section, is responsible for coordinating engineering activities for the South Delta Temporary Barriers Project and related efforts including preparing periodic monitoring reports, performing technical studies, reviewing and coordinating hydrodynamic modeling, field inspections, disseminating project information to interested parties, and supporting Delta related project planning, implementation, and compliance.

This position is physically located at the Warren Alquist Building next to the California Natural Resources Building in Downtown Sacramento.

As an Engineer, Water Resources within Bargaining Unit 9, you will be eligible to receive a compensated time off bonus of up to 80 hours annually, in addition to your regular leave benefits (PECG MOU Section 3.27). This only applies to Engineers working in the Division of Operations and Maintenance.
