Federal Work Study - Tutor (in school) Turning Point Ministries

Overview:

Turning Point Ministries is seeking work study student workers for their daycare and after-school program. The program provides care, academic support and after-school enrichment activities to children and infants from ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. Work study staff will assist certified age group leaders in supporting classroom activities.

Duties:

• Assist group leaders and coordinators in providing after-school tutoring and homework support
• Support social and cultural enrichment activities such as exercise, music, creative writing, etc.
• Assist group leaders with supervising group leaders students on field trips and other activities
• Assist during snack and meal times
• Maintain clean work area to ensure a suitable learning environment for elementary age children
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

The hiring of student workers by Cincinnati State is premised on eligibility guidelines for federal work study employment: Eligible applicants must be high school graduates or have attained a GED, Additionally, eligible applicants for the work study positions at Cincinnati State must be as least 16 years of age on or before the date of hire and meet the following requirements.

• Must have completed a FAFSA for the current school year.
• Must meet and continue to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
• Must be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen
• Must demonstrate financial need.
• Student must be fully COVID vaccinated
• Student must be able to provide own transportation to Turning Point Ministries. Turning Point Ministries is located at 7245 Eastlawn Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45237

Hourly Pay: $14.00 per hour

Status: Position is Part-time and not to exceed 20 hours per week.

This position requires a Background Check which will be provided by Cincinnati State.
