The Fleet Support Engineer on the BaseOps team will be actively engaged in the operational uptime of our fleet. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert, adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams, documenting troubleshooting processes, and providing real-time support for daily operations.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for real-time escalations for fleet issues.
Conduct in-depth root cause analysis through comprehensive log review to identify and resolve fleet issues.
Develop, update, and maintain a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for technicians, incorporating newly diagnosed faults and their resolutions.
Perform hardware bring-up and validation procedures for new vehicle components.
Design and implement diagnostic procedures to streamline future troubleshooting processes.
Historical review of vehicle/fleet data identifying trends and issues.
Collaborate with engineering design teams to enhance tooling and improve issue detection capabilities.
Develop and implement effective countermeasures across the fleet to prevent recurring issues.
Define and capture essential data points to validate issue resolution and measure the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
Engage in cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement in vehicle performance and reliability.
Availability for night and weekend shifts as needed, with advanced notice provided.
Willingness to travel occasionally within the U.S. to support various operational locations.

Required Skills & Experience
Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in transportation, aerospace, or autonomous vehicles.
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
Experience with low/high voltage circuits, Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS), and how to safely troubleshoot.
Understanding of hardware and software systems architecture, communications to support in an operations setting.
Embraces a holistic problem-solving approach to identifying issues with high-level vehicle functions and drive specific resolution into single components.
Self-starter, ability to build relationships across the company.
Ability to comprehend schematics, electrical diagrams, connector end views/pinout.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with electric vehicle technology.
Experience with remotely supporting vehicle troubleshooting.
Knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostics tools.
Experience with Linux & Python-based programming systems for fleet-level data processing.
Experience with software that interfaces with hardware.
Familiarity with networking, TCP, and socket programming.
