We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to fill the position of Geoscience Systems Analyst in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM), Subsurface Technology group, supporting the Permian Basin EOR unit.

You will join a team focused on supporting upstream geoscience business needs as well as process improvement and automation. If you are interested in joining a fast-paced, action-oriented team, please apply for this position. This position is located in Houston, Texas.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Cataloging and managing data repositories to bolster the Petrophysics and Geoscience Teams' projects.
  • Facilitating data exchange among Landmark OpenWorks/DSG, Petrel/Studio, ArcGIS, and other platforms.
  • Using expertise in Petrel's well templates, sections, and global logs to generate report quality outputs.
  • Handling and quality control of various data types, including well, production, log, core, and downhole wellbore data.
  • Crafting multi-faceted reference maps, transforming raw data into polished outputs, utilizing advanced geoprocessing, and integrating diverse datasets across multiple software systems.
  • Having a comprehensive understanding of coordinate systems, their transformations, and spatial accuracy.
  • Developing and sustaining enterprise-level tools, such as SharePoint, web maps, and analytical dashboards.
  • Creating standardization and disseminating knowledge, documenting and sharing best practices, and engaging in knowledge exchange.
  • Using IHS Enerdeq in conducting well searches, creating maps, and exporting data.
  • Utilizing Enverus Prism to create filters, maps, and widgets with ease.
  • Handling data import/export and coordinate system translations through Global Mapper.


Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline

Skills and Competencies:

  • At least five years of professional experience in the industry.
  • Solid grasp of petroleum geoscience principles.
  • Robust technical acumen in data management, as well as geoscience and engineering software.
  • Foundational knowledge of SQL, scripting, and database structures.
  • Well-acquainted with Spotfire, PowerBI, and SharePoint.
  • Eager to master petrophysical software and database systems.
  • Quick learner, capable of creating new workflows autonomously with little guidance.
  • Creative problem-solver, keen on introducing and applying innovative concepts, procedures, and tech advancements.
  • Focused on delivering results, possesses exceptional time management abilities, and can handle several tasks simultaneously within strict deadlines.
  • Detail focused and able to quality control data using multiple sources.
  • Team-oriented, with strong collaborative spirit and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proactive and independent, readily takes on complex tasks and leads challenging initiatives.
