The Laboratory Research Technician/Clinical Coordinator for the Department of Immunology & Microbiology will primarily be responsible for (1) assisting with ongoing human research studies (including organizing subject visits and assisting in record keeping), (2) processing human subject samples and organizing sample storage and distribution, (2) performing immunologic assays on human samples or cell lines (including ELISA assays, PCR, flow cytometry, multiplex assays, BSL-2 tissue culture). The candidate will be trained by the laboratory principal investigator and other staff. The candidate should be able to work independently under minimal supervision with timely performance of experimental procedures, analysis of results, and accurate note recording. This work will also require teamwork and coordination with other lab members and general maintenance of the laboratory. This position will require occasional weekend activities, specifically being on call to process human samples collected over the weekend.

  • Proficient research experiment skills and techniques.
  • Proficient laboratory record keeping and maintenance skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Willingness to work in solo and team environments and multitask during the workday.
  • B ache l o r 's de g r e e and one year of lab experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Biological or Chemical Science.
  • Experience in clinical research.
  • Experience in laboratory techniques such as cell culture, ELISA and flow cytometry are desirable.
  • Experience in aseptic techniques and processing of human specimens.
  • Experience in statistical analysis and/or big data management
