We are investigating the molecular mechanisms of sex steroids and their role in metabolism using transgenic/knockout mouse models and human samples. We are currently looking for a motivated college graduate with background in the biological sciences who wants to get excellent research experience before going to graduate school. This is a full-time position as a Medical Research Technician the Mauvais-Jarvis Lab here at Tulane. Our laboratory provides excellent training in mouse physiology and the ability to be actively involved in publications. Two years commitment necessary. 

Individual carries out experiments in biology and chemistry as well as animal experiments and data analysis. Provides technical support to the Principal Investigator with ongoing research projects. Organizes and performs data entry using various computer software programs. Manages lab inventories and supply ordering as well as safety compliance.
• Basic skills in aseptic cell culture, animal handling, biochemical and cellular assays
• Excellent work ethic, and good communication skills
• Good interaction and collaboration with colleagues

• Ability to meticulously collect and record research data

• Good analytical skills and attention to detail

• Ability to follow instructions and keen interest to learn

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments

• B.A. or B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, or related fields.
• Previous experience in a basic research laboratory.


• Previous experience in molecular biology or animal physiology work is preferred.
