General Summary:
The Payment Services coordinator reconciles all non-cash payments accepted in our retail stores. These payment types include, but are not limited to, checks (returned), credit card, debit card, EBT card, gift card, WIC, and coupons (paper and digital). The responsibilities include proper reconciliation between register information and funding and/or tender amounts received. The Payment Services Coordinator will follow up on any discrepancies and identify issues and/or areas for process improvements. Other department interaction will include financial reporting, cash audit, sales audit, customer relations, store systems, employee response center, treasury, loss prevention, and store operations.

General Summary:
The Payment Services coordinator reconciles all non-cash payments accepted in our retail stores. These payment types include, but are not limited to, checks (returned), credit card, debit card, EBT card, gift card, WIC, and coupons (paper and digital). The responsibilities include proper reconciliation between register information and funding and/or tender amounts received. The Payment Services Coordinator will follow up on any discrepancies and identify issues and/or areas for process improvements. Other department interaction will include financial reporting, cash audit, sales audit, customer relations, store systems, employee response center, treasury, loss prevention, and store operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Administer the reconciliation of the company's electronic payments (credit, debit, and EBT). Identify over/short and/or sales issues and communicate to proper areas. Suggest areas for process improvement.
- Process credit/debit chargeback inquires and process them timely to avoid expense. This includes the research of POS journals and other financial system data. Provide monthly chargeback report to DG management team. Follow up on exception reporting provided by outside vendor.
- Administer the reconciliation of the company's gift card program. Follow up with stores not following proper procedure.
- Administer the reconciliation of the company's coupon program. Follow up with stores not following proper procedure. Monitor exception based alerts and assist field personnel with any inquiries regarding these alerts.
- Assist in the establishment of departmental procedures. Regularly review procedures to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with special projects.
- Create and process journal entries and other tasks that may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of cash and non-cash reconciliation processes. ReconNet experience a plus.
- Ability to understand and apply accounting concepts.
- Ability to understand and use Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Access, and Word.
- Strong decision making skills and problem solving skills with acute attention to detail.
- Analytical skills and technical skills to work in a variety of systems
- Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Requires strong written and verbal communication skills and high energy.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Ability to be a team player and is customer service driven.
Qualifications
Work Experience &/or Education:
- High school diploma.
- College level accounting coursework preferred.
- At least one year of experience with cash and non-cash reconciliations.
