Job Summary:
The Professional Development Specialist (PDS) must be passionate about elevating nursing excellence through ongoing professional development, professional board-certified certifications, higher levels of education, and shared decision making. Specific duties include ongoing development of the shared governance program and clinical advancement program, and oversight of department of nursing certifications, BSN and higher education rates and nursing performance evaluation program to include self-appraisal, peer feedback and professional goal setting. The PDS collaborates with all levels of nursing to promote professional development programs with ongoing education, goal setting, and action planning.
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS Licensed/Registered(or eligible) Registered Nurse required. Bachelors in Nursing and three years acute care post licensure RN experience required. Must have strong organizational skills to include excellent verbal and writing communication skills and must be competent in Microsoft Office products. CPR-BLS required by time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Nursing or Education strongly preferred. Prefer candidates with recent 3 years of leadership experience and program management skills. Strongly prefer candidates with professional development experience and a nursing professional development board certified certification.
Work Days:
Mon- Fri 8 hr shifts
