What You'll Do:

Oversees Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs), provides support, ensures compliance, and supervises county coordinators to ensure all counties are following established program guidelines under OAC 5507 and ORC 128. Duties will include (but are not limited to):
  • Develop and maintain the support and compliance program and update to ensure all requirements meet ORC and OAC.
  • Develop and implement audit policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement technical assistance to agencies (PSAPs) under jurisdiction of the Ohio 9-1-1 Program Office and Statewide 9-1-1 Steering Committee.
  • Receive and respond to queries from PSAPs across the state concerning 9-1-1 operations.
  • Conduct audits at all 88 counties and report critical and non-compliance issues for resolution.
  • Based on the audit, validate PSAPs compliance with OAC 5507 and ORC 128 and prepare a report to the9-1-1 Administrator based on the findings recommending compliance or non-compliance.
  • Adjust audit procedures to meet unexpected or complex situations.
  • Provide audit program and training reports and recommendations to the 9-1-1 Administrator and the Statewide 9-1-1 Steering Committee.
  • Develop training for PSAPs to comply with PSAP Technical and Operational Standards in OAC 5507 and ORC 128.

Qualifications

5 yrs. trg. or 5 yrs. exp. in business administration, management or public administration.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management or public administration; 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.

-Or completion of undergraduate core program for academic field of study commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on File; 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative, managerial &/or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.

-Or 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 2, 63123.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
