The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles' (DMV) Driver's License Compliance Work Center is seeking a Program Support Technician to produce, review, and assist with high-volume workloads of mail-in service requests and phone calls from various sources including: DMV's Customer Service Centers and Customer Contact Centers, attorneys, customers, Driver Improvement Clinics, Virginia courts, Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program, and immediate response to faxes and Landing Zones.
Responsibilities Include:
• Analyzing driver history files to determine if drivers are in compliance with the Motor Vehicle Code and court orders, determine the correct action if drivers are out of compliance, and update driving records accordingly
• Responding to correspondence from citizens, courts, attorneys
• Performing other services provided by the work center as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience reading, analyzing, and applying policies and procedures and adapting to frequent policy and procedural changes
• Experience reviewing and interpreting laws and legal documents
• Experience interacting with law enforcement, courts, and/or attorneys
• Knowledge and/or experience performing mathematical computations and balancing and reconciling money
• Experience providing customer service, effectively managing difficult customer situations, and responding promptly to the needs of the customer
• Ability to be self-motivated to meet deadlines for completing tasks
• Experience working in a group setting in the workplace to quickly and effectively accomplish tasks
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, email, and databases
• Excellent problem-solving, using analytical and creative thinking to find solutions
• Ability to work multiple shifts Monday - Friday 8:15 am - 5:00 pm, and alternated shift of 8:45 am - 5:30 pm, Saturday, as needed.8:00 am - 1:00 pm

• Knowledge of DMV processes and the Motor Vehicle Code
