What You'll Do:
  • Assists in designing and carrying out research projects.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations to nursing home licensure staff regarding long term care beds and nursing home projects impacted by certificates of need.
  • Evaluates requests for variances and waivers to health care services rules.
  • Prepares reports and collects data regarding regulated health care services including procedural volume rates and incidents.
  • Maintains report of all health care service provider types, levels, and special circumstances.
  • Evaluates Newborn Safety Incubator (NSI) registrations, renewals, and maintains list of registered installers.
  • Evaluates Stroke Recognition applications.
  • Creates long-term care bed inventory reports for the Department of Medicaid.
  • Collects and evaluates Nursing Services Staffing Plans from hospitals biennially.
  • Participates in designing and conducting research and application reviews for hospital licensure program.
  • Responsible for web content maintenance and creation of new applications, reports, and other documents for all areas maintained.
  • Formulates and implements policy, and related rules for specific reporting/research programs that are statutorily mandated which includes design, data collection, analysis and publishing of reports and consumer information.
  • Provides general analytical support for the certificate of need & all health care services programs.

  • Graduate or advanced degree in health services administration, hospital administration, strategic communication or information, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, public administration, allied health sciences, nursing, or economics
  • Experience reviewing contracts and or health care related applications, certifications, budget, property, financing and/or construction
  • Experience conducting research activities e.g., gathering, analyzing data, producing reports from a variety of databases
  • Experience in multitasking on a variety of projects associated with federal and state regulations
  • Experience providing technical assistance or consultation for a program
  • Experience working reading and analyzing Ohio Revised Code and Federal Regulation
  • Experience working with evaluating complex projects
  • Experience with computer software e.g., Microsoft Suite: Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Scheduling and preparing for meetings to report before a group of people on data and research outcomes

Qualifications

  • Completion of undergraduate core coursework & 12 mos. exp. in one of following: health services administration, mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, public administration, allied health sciences, nursing, economics, public health, or comparable field;
  • 12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in research methodology, measurement & testing, analysis of variance & survey sampling;
  • 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in use of computer programs/applications used for spreadsheets, statistical analysis & graphics presentation & word processing;
  • 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in multiple regression or multivariate analysis.


Or
