YOUR FUTURE TEAM

As part of TCEQ's Office of Waste, you would contribute to agency efforts to regulate the generation, treatment, storage, and disposal of various wastes and the cleanup of contaminated sites. See details about what we do.

This position is a member of our Remediation Division.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING...

  • Assist in the oversight of federally funded Superfund Section, Voluntary Cleanup-Corrective Action (VCP/CA) Section, & Petroleum Storage Tank -Dry Cleaners Remediation Program (PST/DCRP) Section.
  • Assist the Deputy Director with oversight of the Remediation Division activities and resources, including highly technical Engineers, Geoscientists, Hydrologists, Chemists, Engineering Specialists, etc.
  • Assist in the oversight of day-to-day activities within the Remediation Division, including division policy, personnel matters, budgetary issues. Coordinate division responses to requests from the Office of Waste, Commissioners, and the Executive Director.
  • Supervise staff providing technical support for the division, to include hiring, managing, and appraising the performance of staff; and assuring staff development and training. Assist with overseeing division policy, personnel matters, budgetary issues.




Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.

OR

Experience in the management of a business function, division, or department to include professional management experience where primary duties consists of planning organizing, controlling, and directing the work of an organization or formal subdivision, or team.

OR

Experience as a special assistant to a TCEQ director or deputy director developing management policies and directing/evaluating operations.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES

This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Director IV state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Director IV series.
