YOUR FUTURE TEAM

As part of TCEQ Compliance and Enforcement, you would help ensure that those we regulate comply with the state's environmental laws.

This position is a member of our Coastal & East Texas region.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Plan, direct, and monitor Waste program activities to assure commitments are met in a timely manner with accurate and complete reports
  • Oversee the work of investigators; provide input relating to performance management
  • Coordinate investigations and reports of complaints in accordance with agency policies and procedures
  • Advise and provide feedback to the Waste Section Manager regarding program activities and/or significant issues
  • Coordinate with the division to accomplish agency goals
  • Provide and/or assure outreach and technical assistance is provided to the general public, the regulated community, media, and government officials
  • Conduct field investigations and file reviews to ensure the work plan and regional needs are met




Qualifications:

KEY QUALFIICATIONS

  • Experience working with and/or interpreting waste rules, regulations, policies, or procedures
  • Experience providing outreach and technical assistance
  • Experience mentoring, training and/or developing employees


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field generally preferred, but not required; plus, six years of full-time experience in environmental activities.

OR

A master's degree from an accredited college or university in the degrees listed above, plus five years of the required experience.

OR

A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in the degrees listed above, plus four years of the required experience.

OR

Ten years of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities.

OR

Two years of full-time TCEQ experience as an Environmental Investigator IV.
