Job Description:

Candidate should possess skills that are aligned to the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles with a focus on the discipline specific to this position. SRE is a software engineering approach to Client's SRC Operations. SRE professionals use software as a tool to manage systems, solve problems, and automate tasks. Engineers' focus specializes in improving all aspects of reliability, acting as a conduit between infrastructure and application teams on support issues and improving tools, automation, processes, and software.
Responsibilities | SRE:

• Monitor systems and infrastructure to maintain operational and performance levels
• Rotational on-call responsibilities
• Work closely with other SRC professionals/engineers when issues arise, collabo*** on troubleshooting, and provide consultation/resolution with events/incidents
• Anticipate potential problems before they become impacting and collabo*** to determine solutions
• Gather and analyze metrics from tools and system/application logs to assist in performance tuning, fault finding, and resolution
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation, processes enhancement, tools, and noise reduction
• Build automation to manage the SRC operations and eliminate/minimize manual functions and toil
• Collabo*** with Application/Infrastructure support engineers and operations teams
• Engage in post-incident reviews for improvements and determining the cause to prevent recurrence
• Document work to turn findings into repeatable actions via knowledge articles
• Mentoring and coaching junior engineers

Responsibilities | Discipline:

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows operating systems
• Analyze and resolve problems associated with servers, hardware, and software
• Install, configure, and maintain operating hardware and software
• Troubleshoot networking and operating system problems

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Assist with problem resolution and follow up in addition to performing simple and routine assignments that require basic knowledge of the specified support function
• Perform a variety of tasks related to, but not limited to, troubleshooting, and maintaining internal systems and infrastructure in addition to documenting
• Track relevant capacity metrics and provide regular reporting so we can increase capacity as necessary to fulfill business needs
• Correspond with leadership about unresolved problems and work to resolve
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collabo*** effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team, taking ownership of tasks and driving them to completion
• Relevant certifications, such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or Pure Storage Certified Architect (PCA), are a plus
• The following skills are not required but a plus:

• Level 2/3 support of all Windows platforms
• Ansible automation
• Ability to script in PowerShell
• Experience with Microsoft Clustering, Active Directory, and Group Policy
• Working knowledge of SQL, NAS, SAN, NFS, and DFS
• Experience in SCCM or other deployment tools
• Familiarity with VMware vSphere, VM guest hardware and software, VHDX and RDMS
• Linux experience

Education / Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5 + years of experience assisting specific support functions or equivalent in one or more of the following: Windows 2016 - 2022, VMWare vSphere ESXi, Unified Computing Systems, Cloud technologies such as Azure and/or AWS
