Job Description

Litigation Coordinator will assist with responses from internal and outside counsel relating to discovery, potential and actual litigation cases, assist with on-site virtual hearings over objection for treatment or discharge, coordinating requests for appearances at trials.

  • Perform discovery functions for litigation cases involving malpractice, torts, district attorney requests and other cases assigned. Contact labs, radiology, nursing, medical records, medical staff affairs and various departments to accomplish this task.
  • Act as a liaison for all staff contacts with contracts with contracted law firms, NYC Law Department, Claims Management firm, Claims and Litigation Unit, District Attorney Office regarding videotaping of patients. Schedule and maintain records of staff interviews, Preps, EBT's with our law firms, NYC Law Department, etc. Provide medical records and all materials needed. Arrange for and assign a location for interviews. Confirm all information with the staff and the law firms calendar liaison. Update file folder and data entry in the Risk Database.
  • Ensure EBT transcripts are given to staff, reviewed, notarized and returned to attorney.


Minimum Qualifications
1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Health Administration, Public Administration or approved related program; and,
2. Six years of full-time, paid experience of progressively responsible level in hospital administration with particular emphasis on development and evaluation of health care delivery services; or,
3. A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Hospital or Health Administration, Health Care Planning, Public Health, Administrative Medicine, Business Administration, Public Administration or approved related program; and,
4. Five years of full-time, paid experience as indicated in (2); or,
5. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
