he Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) provides statewide leadership of a high-quality mental health and addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery system that is effective and valued by all Ohioans.
The Bureau of Criminal Justice works with the offender to identify behavioral healthcare needs as they reintegrate back into the community, providing linkage to quality treatment and recovery supports.

Hybrid Schedule: Required to report to Central Office twice a week. (subject to change)
Duties of the Correctional Program Coordinator include:
May be exposed to potentially dangerous inmates; may be required to work weekends, evening shift & travel.
Selected applicant(s) will be required to complete the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction's Correctional Training Academy located in Orient, OH. This training is approximately 4 weeks in length.
Qualifications - External
Must hold current certification or credentials in one of following:
- Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDC II)
- Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor III (LCDC III)
- Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC)
- Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) by State of Ohio Counselor & Social Worker Board.
- Professional Clinical Counselor (PCC) by State of Ohio Counselor & Social Worker Board.
- Professional Counselor (PC) by State of Ohio Counselor & Social Worker Board.
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW) by State of Ohio Counselor & Social Worker Board.
- Licensed Physician by State of Ohio Medical Board.
- Licensed Psychologist by State of Ohio Board of Psychology.

Duties of the Correctional Program Coordinator include:
- At assigned correctional institution(s) and/or Adult Parole Authority regions, provide biopsychosocial assessments and referral services to the severe and persistent mentally ill and/or addiction clients soon to be released or post release from a correctional facility
- Complete Social Security/Disability Applications, Assessments, and Community Referral Packets with this designated population
- Coordinating and collaborating with prison staff and community stakeholders
- Schedule is Monday-Friday with day shift hours
- the ability to write reports well
- strong organizational and computer skills
- excellent customer service skills and communication abilities
- be able to have brief interactions with clients coordinating their linkage services
