Hybrid - External Auditor 3

We are accepting applications for an External Auditor 3 position within the Office of Financial Management, headquartered at the James Rhodes State Office Tower, 30 East Broad Street, 11th floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215.

What You'll Do:

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Conducts site-visits of structured programs, including financial, compliance and operational reviews; prepares report of findings and recommendations.
• Reviews corrective action plans for resolutions.
• Complete an Audit Risk Model to identify the need of conducting a specialized audit.
• Work to provide recommendations on any findings discovered by lower level external auditors during routine audits.
• Performs desk reviews of 50 ADAMHS/ADAS/CMH Boards, 6 psychiatric hospitals and over 1,000 provider agencies and audits to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, department Financial & Compliance Audit guidelines & department internal policies/procedures.
• Assists supervisor with special projects, as needed (other related accounting/auditing tasks, e.g. risk assessment), ensures unit productivity standards are maintained.

Currently operating under a hybrid schedule. Two days in-office per week, subject to change.

Qualifications

5 yrs. exp. in auditing or accounting, which must have included 30 mos. auditing exp. in accordance with auditing standards or in accordance with prescribed management policies &/or procedures as specified on agency position description; 12 mos. exp. as audit team lead or auditor in charge.

-Or completion of undergraduate core coursework in accounting, business administration, computer science or related field; 3 yrs. exp. in auditing or accounting which must have included 18 mos. auditing exp. in accordance with auditing standards or in accordance with prescribed management policies &/or procedures as specified on agency position description; 12 mos. exp. as audit team lead or auditor in charge.
