Position Summary

The incumbent is the sole support person for the Master of Marketing Research (MMR) degree program in the Terry College of Business and has a high level of independent responsibilities. Primary responsibilities are student support for prospective and enrolled students; supporting the program director in administrative tasks; serving as liaison with key external constituencies including recruiters and MMR Advisory Board members; managing some financial tasks including processing expenditures, soliciting, and processing donations, and student payroll and scholarships. Student support functions include communicating with prospective students, hosting student visits to campus, managing applicant files and application process as well as supporting enrolled students with course registration, maintaining student records, coordinating new student orientation and the annual career fair, and managing the job placement process via production of a resume book and scheduling on-site interviews. The position also involves budgeting and bookkeeping for travel, events (career fair, Advisory Board meetings, graduation dinner) and program expenses such as production of a newsletter, networking events following seminars, and software purchases as well as the generation of reports including those for accreditation. As the liaison with external constituencies, the position requires the ability to work with recruiters, advisory board members, and alumni. This position also manages the paperwork (e.g., agreements and waivers) and OneSource invoicing associated with the corporate projects. As needed, this position will provide support to marketing faculty and staff.

Student Support for Admitted and Enrolled MMR Students
  • Oversee new student admissions process including managing applicant files, reading application files and making initial recommendation, and planning & conducting orientation sessions.
  • Administer student support to enrolled students by providing approved course registration list and instructions, clearing students to register each semester, maintaining student records, and verifying that students meet degree requirements for graduation.
  • Onboard newly enrolled students by working with OIT and Facilities for building and computer resources access.
  • Maintain MMR computer lab, including requesting software updates and providing printer supplies.
  • Assist the management of MMR assistantships, including orienting them to perform their MMR-related duties.
    • Submit required graduate waivers and assistantship paperwork to Terry Business Office, Dean's Office, and Graduate School.
    • Submit tuition waivers each semester.
  • Process students' nominations for Regents Out-Of-State waivers and for Office of International Education out-of-state waivers.
  • Perform graduation checks by collecting program of study forms via Grad Status and check for graduation registrations.
  • Select and order graduation gifts and program branded merchandise, ensure appropriate branding approval, distribute gifts to graduates, speakers, board members, and donors.

II: Program Coordinator Duties
  • Serve as primary contact for the MMR program
    • Contact for the Graduate School relating to the MMR Program
    • Keep up to date on Graduate Coordinator Assistant training through the Graduate School
    • Manage job market recruiting efforts under the direction of the program director
    • Serve as primary contact for recruiters
  • Assist director with program communications, information management and end of year procedures.
    • Provide program information via meetings, presentations, phone, and e-mail
    • Maintain contacts database for program communications, prospective students, alumni, board members, and industry contacts
    • Web site content manager: update MMR Program website as needed, create and/or edit program web site content
    • Manage program listservs
    • End of year awards, pull data for elections, handle voting, order certificates
    • Pull financial reports from FAME
  • Coordinate MMR corporate projects:
    • Manage contract, DocuSigns, and waiver process as liaison between UGA Legal department and company reps,
    • Obtain required signatures and distribute executed contracts to all parties,
    • Process billing and manage suppliers in OneSource.
    • Using/managing donors online payment portals as needed.

  • Serve as liaison between administration, MMR faculty, students, alumni, and outside constituencies including recruiters and MMR Executive Advisory Board.
  • Solicit input for program biannual newsletter, work with communications staff on production, and mail to alumni and other external constituencies.
  • Maintain the database of alumni and industry contacts

IV: Event Management
  • Organize, promote, and direct/oversee student program activities and MMR related events, including:
    • Annual MMR Career Fair and seminar receptions, information sessions, and graduation events.
    • The fall and spring MMR Advisory Board meetings; including booking venues, ordering meals, providing supplies.
    • Assist with Terry graduate Convocation ceremonies at Stegeman Coliseum, prepare and organize MMR students.
    • Assist the director and advisory board with planning and execution of the Future of Insights Research Summit.
    • Manage job placement of graduating students including resume writing workshop, creating digital and print resume book, scheduling recruiters, planning annual career fair, and scheduling on-site interviews.
    • Reserve event spaces, order food, facilitate caterer and venue contracts for these activities.
