The Storeroom Team Lead will report to the Maintenance Superintendent and will be responsible for leading inventory operations; inventory cycle counts; receiving, issuing parts and stocking activities; ensuring materials are available as needed; leading meetings & trainings; identifying safety, environmental, quality & storeroom issues; coordinate activities to ensure efficient operations and minimize cost, reduce waste and take measures to proactively address all concerns.

Pay rate is $30.21

Key Functions:
  • The Team Lead will plan, develop, manage and provide effective leadership for the storeroom.
  • Direct the tracking, receiving and onsite distribution of materials.
  • Lead inventory cycle counts and associated reconciliations per best practices and financial reporting guidelines.
  • Perform shipping/receiving tasks; including physical and/or electronic shipping and receiving of materials, operating materials handling equipment (including forklift), performing service receipts, local pickups or deliveries, completing customs paperwork, etc.
  • Perform inventory transactions such as issues, returns, credits and reconciliations.
  • Perform various AP related functions such as Work Cycles, matching packing slips to invoices, etc.
  • Manage vendor inventory and vending machines: including having responsibility for re-order process documentation and approvals.
  • Run kitting and delivery pick lists, stages parts and run associated reports.
  • Break down freight, notifying site user that material is on site and receive in the system.
  • Educate storeroom associates, customers/contractors on storeroom processes.
  • Ensure the safety of all associates by identifying safety issues and taking measures to proactively address concerns, role model safe work practices, and lead safety meetings and initiatives.
  • Lead the storeroom in continuous improvement activities including safety, housekeeping, quality, uptime, parts availability, and cost control.
  • Review purchase requests and coordinate with plant associates to develop specifications
  • Prepare and publish specifications for bids, evaluate bid responses, verify history of supplier safety & service and ability to meet contract specifications
  • Interview vendors to obtain information regarding safety, quality, service & competitive pricing and provide recommendations
  • Closely partner with the maintenance department to provide superior service in preventive & routine maintenance activities
  • Ensure vendor compliance with site safety requirements & orientation
  • Train associates and vendors in procedural requirements for site purchasing and materials management
  • Resolve service and inventory disputes between site management and vendors
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports.
  • Perform special project work to improve the overall operations in the mill.
  • Effectively use training resources to maximize team technical skills.
  • Assists with capital projects


Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Must have track record of consistently demonstrating leadership skills as well as positive influence and accomplishments in proactively influencing safety, environmental, quality, productivity and people development.
  • Must have at least 3 years of storeroom or buying experience OR equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.
  • Ability to recognize reliability opportunities and resolve them while identifying root cause of problems and effectively initiating immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Able to work in extreme temperatures, in dusty and noisy conditions, while wearing safety equipment
  • Able to lift 2-20 pounds regularly, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, climb steps and ladders, work from heights and stand or walk for 2-3 hours at a time for 10 hours
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt to priority changes and constant interruptions.
  • Excellent time management, communication (oral, written and listening) and interpersonal skills required to interact and participate in a team environment.
  • Ability to process data with a high degree of accuracy and detail
  • Ability to work independently and to be self-motivated
  • Ability to work closely with management team.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when required
  • Ability to research products/services by analyzing data and identifying cost effective options
  • Effective problem solving techniques and ability to make process improvement recommendations
  • Committed to professional ethical standards
  • Customer-oriented and focused (both internal and external)
  • General knowledge of accounting/financial principles preferred.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Computer proficiency including Office, Excel, Word, and Web-based programs required (Proficiency with SAP preferred, but not required)
