Central State Hospital (CSH), a State of Virginia mental health hospital located near Petersburg, VA, is recruiting for a TSP Support Technician (Driver/ Helpers-Installation Maintenance & Repair Worker). The TSP Support Tech will provide transportation services for patients, staff, goods, and equipment as directed. This position is subject to mandatory overtime for all types of storm response, including ice and snow pretreatment and removal for CSH.

Job Duties:
- Complete repair and general maintenance work as assigned that includes grounds work, plumbing, painting, carpentry, cleaning, moving materials, and etc.;
- Transport individuals using vans, cars, buses, and wheelchair accessible vehicles;
- Follow all policies and procedures related to transportation;
- Ensures all passengers are seated before bus/vehicle is in motion and using safety belts properly;
- Assures all wheelchairs are properly secured before moving vehicles;
- Accurately documents trip tickets;
- Cutting grass, weed trimming, apply mulch and stone, leaf removal, set up tents and cooking grills, pick up trash on all areas of the campus with use of power equipment and hand tools;
- Other duties assigned by supervisor.

As a trades technician II you are on a rotating call / call back schedule. As a mission critical employee, there is an expectation that you respond to any and all emergency calls as stated in CSH PPS Policy Letter #2

Minimum Qualifications

- Experience in the operation of passenger vehicles and maintenance of vehicles and associated safety practices.
- Knowledge of all state driving laws and the use of road maps to transport patients in a safe and timely manner.
-Ability to work various shifts during emergencies and/or agency needs.
- Ability to work using a team approach.
- Demonstrates the ability to follow state policies and procedures.
- Possession of a Valid Virginia driver's license required.

Additional Considerations

- A state of Virginia Commercial Driver's License - Class B
- Experience in the operation of passenger buses and vans preferred.
- Experience with the operation of small power equipment and the mechanical ability to perform preventative and general maintenance on this equipment preferred.
- Experience with grounds/landscaping work and associated safety practices preferred.
- Experience with general building maintenance and associated safety practices preferred.
