Why does the job exist?

The Accountant & Auditor - Operational will:
  • Accurately post incoming deposits from various sources within defined time frames;
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant State and Federal laws and rules, as well as Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) and New Mexico Health Care Authority (HCA) policies and procedures.


How does it get done?

The Accountant & Auditor - Operational is responsible for:
  • Requesting federal funds from Payment Management system and processing draws for all federally funded programs accurately and timely in SHARE accounting system;
  • Posting all daily and miscellaneous deposits received to SHARE accounting system ensuring that all chart-fields are recorded correctly;
  • Completing financial reconciliations.

  • Administrative Services Division (ASD);
  • HCA divisional staff;
  • Other state agencies and third-party vendors.


  • Ideal Candidate

    The Ideal Candidate has:
    • Accounts Receivable experience;
    • PeopleSoft SHARE Financial experience;
    • Proficient experience utilizing Microsoft Excel functions;
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills;
    • Ability to work independently and in a team setting;
    • Ability to multi-task.


    Minimum Qualification

    Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or Business Administration and two (2) years directly related work experience in accounting, auditing, finance and/or budgeting. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

    Employment Requirements

    Must possess and maintain valid driver's license.

    Working Conditions

    Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Must be able to lift 25lbs.
