Why does the job exist?

The Management Analyst - Advanced will:
  • Provide expertise in report analysis, auditing, quality reviews and interpreting federal/state regulations, policies, and procedures;
  • Utilize data analytics to identify trends of Medicaid Beneficiary critical incident, grievances, appeals and performance measures report data using a variety of analytic tools and reports;
  • Produce related documents and reports;
  • Oversee the Health Care Authority (HCA) CIRS portal, and ongoing monitoring of report data for the Medicaid program.


How does it get done?

The Management Analyst - Advanced is responsible for:
  • Compiling, tracking, trending and analyzing data;
  • Working collaboratively with staff in the division to analyze implications of identified trends;
  • Developing written analysis of findings;
  • Monitoring and oversight of the Managed Care Organizations (MCOs);
  • Proposing corrective actions to resolve deficiencies and/or system issues;
  • Monitoring and managing the Health Care Authority (HCA) Critical Incident Portal;
  • Reviewing and preparing in-depth reporting analysis, to include trending of critical incidents, performance measures, member grievances and appeals.

  • Medicaid recipients, providers, other government and regulatory agencies.


Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has experience:
  • Utilizing Microsoft Office suite/multiple databases;
  • Analyzing and interpreting data;
  • Demonstrating excellent business writing skills;
  • Developing and conducting presentations;
  • Collaborating with coworkers and stakeholders;
  • Multitasking/prioritizing assignments;
  • Navigating the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and New Mexico Administrative Code (NMAC).


Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and two (2) years of experience in the procedures of business and management principles involved in strategic planning. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain valid driver's license;
  • Defensive drivers' certification.


Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Possible exposure to irate clientele. Some statewide travel may be required. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints. Must have own mode of transportation for work-related travel.
